Our goal is to contribute to a long-term sensitization of the party scene and the implementation of awareness concepts in the party context. We want to support organizers in creating spaces that are as free of discrimination as possible and in developing concepts for dealing with transgressions. To this end, we want to engage in conversation, provide suggestions, jointly develop and refine ideas, and invite people to try out both new and tried-and-tested approaches.

Education

Within the framework of our awareness workshops, we want to encourage people to deal with discrimination and experiences of violence in the club/party context and to communicate possible ways of dealing with them. Raising awareness and using one's own experiences to name problems and make them visible plays a major role in this. The contents and procedures of our workshops are individually adapted to the needs of the participants and should take into account the different backgrounds of experience and possibilities of implementation. There is no patent remedy for awareness concepts; rather, our aim is to develop individual possibilities for creating a more mindful party culture together with the participants.

We are a group of 4 people and work together on the topic of awareness. We are mainly active in Berlin. As people from event organization, social work and political education, we approach the topic from different directions. Our aim is to pass on our knowledge through workshops and to constantly ask new questions in exchange with participants in order to find new answers together.

The best way to contact us is via mail. We ask for a little patience: An answer may take 1-2 weeks, as we mainly work on a voluntary basis and meet twice a month to discuss more extensive requests.

Principles

For us, awareness refers to attention to situations in which a person's boundaries are crossed. All kinds of border crossings and discriminations can play a role in this, since social power structures cannot be handed in at the entrance, even at parties. The overriding goal of awareness is therefore that all people, regardless of gender, sexual identity, skin color, origin, appearance and physical abilities, can feel as comfortable, free and safe as possible when partying.
