Project officer in the field of education and education coordination for the project "support f(x) - interface for awareness, anti-discrimination and violence prevention" in Leipzig

We are looking for a parental leave replacement as a project officer in the field of education and education coordination (24 hours/week) for the Leipzig location at the earliest possible date, from 01.03.2024 at the earliest. The position is initially limited until 31.12.2024. In the event of a project extension, the parental leave replacement is expected to last until April 2025.

The application deadline is January 23, 2024 at 11:59 p.m., the interviews will take place on February 01, 2024 in Leipzig.

The association:

The Awareness Initiative is committed to combating sexualized violence and discrimination in the event context. It advises and supports event venues in the implementation of awareness strategies, trains staff and awareness teams nationwide, organizes further training, conferences and nationwide networking days. In addition, the association looks beyond the event context and develops ways in which the idea of awareness can also be applied in other areas of society.

The association currently employs 15 people who ensure the implementation of the projects at various locations. These include the projects "support f(x) - interface for awareness, anti-discrimination and violence prevention" (nationwide focus), "Sachsen.support f(x) - Saxon interface for awareness, anti-discrimination and violence prevention" (Saxony-wide focus) and the supra-regional project "Awareness Anlaufstelle Nord/ Süd".

As employees of the projects support f(x) and support f(x) - Interface for Saxony, we work in a grassroots democratic, self-organized and cross-project cooperative manner. To support our work, we are looking for a committed person to help our association improve team structures and processes.

Your activities:

In the area of workshop coordination:

  • Processing workshop and consulting requests
  • Clarifying the content of the assignment with the client
  • Coordination of and communication with freelance speakers, freelancers and awareness initiatives
  • Organizational coordination between clients and freelance speakers
  • Preparation of contracts and invoicing
  • Financial controlling in the education sector of the Awareness initiative
  • Application and reporting system in the education sector of the Awareness Initiative

In the implementation of measures:

  • Consultations and inputs as well as occasional workshops on the implementation of awareness structures in various event areas
  • Evaluation of educational measures and revision and further development of workshop concepts
  • Goal-oriented cooperation and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders and bodies such as awareness groups, event organizers, affected persons' self-organizations and the project advisory board
  • Representation of the project at network meetings and committee work on behalf of the project

You should bring:

  • Enjoy organizational activities and communication
  • Active experience with educational work (e.g. as a workshop leader)
  • Thorough and diverse expertise in the field of anti-discrimination and violence prevention and/or awareness work
  • In-depth methodological and didactic knowledge for designing workshops and consultations
  • Willingness and enjoyment of teamwork with the ability to make independent decisions
  • Willingness to act as a moderator or provide substantive input at public events (e.g. symposia, panels, etc.)
  • Experience in project work and professional attitude

  • Preferably work experience in project work
  • Completed university degree or comparable qualified experience

  • Ability to work in a team and willingness for group processes as well as low-hierarchy decision-making and feedback modes
  • Experienced with common Office applications
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends (in rare cases)
  • Knowledge about current developments, initiatives, groups etc. in Saxony
  • Ideally knowledge of socio-political areas relevant to the field of awareness such as feminism, anti-racism, queer hostility and (sexualized) violence
