aware affect - the podcast from support f(x)

Accompany us in five episodes through the topics of (anti-)discrimination, dealing with and by those affected, taking responsibility and face the question: How can we organise against discrimination and violence in the context of events?

This is the podcast series aware affect. Join us for five episodes on the topics of (anti-)discrimination, dealing with and by those affected, taking responsibility, and face the question: How can we organise against discrimination and violence in the context of events?

In the podcast, our guests talk from different perspectives about what discrimination-sensitive events can look like and report on their work in their own initiatives and collectives.

In the respective episodes, different thematic focuses are set, which are connected to each other through various interfaces. In this way, we will try to come a little closer to the claim of intersectionality in this field.

Nadine Cobbina

Moderated by Nadine Cobbina

The podcast is hosted by Nadine Cobbina . She is an organiser, journalist and presenter (most recently at Radio FM4). Among other things, Nadine is known as "die Zuckerlkettenfrau" and sees herself as a columnist for club culture ('Schlaflos' for derStandard.at). Nadine is also a co-founder of IG Club Kultur, the Austria-wide interest group for club culture, where she is the spokesperson for the events sector. She also coordinates awareness in clubs and campaigns for bodily self-determination with her events.

In each episode, Nadine is accompanied by a new co-host who speaks as an expert on the respective topic.

aware affect #1 - organised against sexist and patriarchal conditions

In the kick-off of our podcast series, Ann Wiesental, the sex-positive activist Janina, Laura from fem*vak speak. At the end, Svenja introduces us to the counselling centre Bellis e.V. from Leipzig.

Nadine Cobbina and Catalina from CLUBcultureAll will moderate. The questions are: Where does the awareness approach come from and what is behind it? How can we work together against patriachal violence and establish an anti-sexist practice as a normal state of affairs at events?

Laura Petri

Laura Petri is there as a representative of fem*vak. Laura started organising not-quite-legal open airs with the collective Distrikt22 and has been active in vak ever since. Later she was a founding member of fem*vak. fem*vak is a young, intersectional-feminist group from FLINTA* who are active in the Leipzig event scene: as DJs, bookers and organisers. fem*vak belongs to vak - an association of music and event collectives in Leipzig.

fem*vak works against sexism and patriarchal structures. The group organises FLINTA*only parties, i.e. nights that are organised and hosted exclusively by FLINTA* and are sometimes only open to FLINTA*. In addition, the group networks other FLINTA* with gatherings, plenums or the fem*vak FLINTA* podcast on Soundcloud (highly recommended!). On Instagram they generate attention through political actions, such as personal FLINTA* stories on "Coming out day". In addition, fem*vak organises workshops on topics such as awareness and dealing with victims of sexualised violence.

Some members are also active in journalism and take part in panel discussions. (Check out: "the patriarchy has guest list of Lea schröder with Judith van Waterkant" here: https://groove.de/2021/10/19/das-patriarchat-hat-gaesteliste-teil-i-status-quo/)
